The 11th National Geosynthetics Conference and the International Symposium on the 40th Anniversary of the Association opened grandly

The conference was themed "Forty years of hardships, pursuing dreams and setting sail for a new journey", and it conducted extensive technical exchanges on the latest developments in the field of geosynthetics in my country in recent years, promoting the integrated development of the industrial chain. Nearly a thousand representatives from geosynthetics raw materials, manufacturing, equipment and testing instrument companies, engineering owners, design and construction units in related industries such as water conservancy, electricity, highways, railways, water transportation, airports, municipal administration, mining, metallurgy, construction, ports, military industry, environmental protection, and universities and research institutes attended the conference.

1. Release Ceremony of Major Projects of the Association

In order to effectively enhance the international influence of the Association and its ability to serve members, focus on cultivating reserve talents for the Association, strengthen the linkage between upstream and downstream of the industrial chain and coordinate the relationship between the market and the government, and help the Association and my country's geosynthetics industry develop with high quality, the 10th Council of the Association has specially set up four major topics: "Internationalization Strategy, Talent Team Building, Member Service Planning, and Public Relations Building" in order to plan and guide the construction of related businesses of the Association.

2 Association Standard Release Ceremony

The Association established the Standardization Working Committee in 2021 and started the standard development work. In May 2022, the first batch of standards (8 items) of the Association were officially approved for development. After multiple stages of strict review and approval, such as the launch meeting, work outline, draft for comments, and draft for review, they are now officially released. The Association will continue to play an innovative leading role in standard development, strengthen the coordinated integration and innovative development of technical standards, and strive to improve the overall level of the geosynthetics industry.

3 Association Development Fund Donation Ceremony

In order to strengthen the service guarantee capabilities of the Association, the Association Development Fund was established. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Association, 11 manufacturing governing units donated to the Association to help the industry develop with high quality in the future

3. Summary Speech

Zhou Shiguang, Chairman of the Association, first expressed his sincere gratitude to the guests and colleagues from all walks of life who have been concerned about and supported the development of the Association for a long time, as well as the units that guided, hosted, and co-organized this meeting. A summary report on the work and development of the Association from 2020 to 2024 was made: the quality of party building was strengthened, and the strength of struggle was drawn, and the party building work of the Association was further strengthened; the establishment of rules and regulations was focused on, and the management foundation was consolidated, and the organizational ability of the Association was further improved; the organizational structure was optimized, and corporate services were strengthened to promote further quality and efficiency improvement in the industry; work meetings were organized, and plans were coordinated and arranged, and the work level of the Association was further improved; the Association developed standards, promoted technological innovation, and improved the standard system of geosynthetics; results evaluation was carried out to promote scientific and technological progress, and the technical ability of the Association was further improved; in-depth investigation and research, grasping industry trends, and the service level of the Association was further improved; major topics were discussed, leading the development of the industry, and promoting high-quality development of the industry; the platform function was played, the service level was improved, and the influence of the Association was further strengthened; academic exchanges were organized to promote industry development, and the communication ability of the Association was further strengthened; international exchanges were carried out to broaden the international vision, and the international influence of the Association was continuously strengthened; actively developing members, enhancing the influence of the Association, and the cohesion of the industry was continuously strengthened. The conference had nearly 200 reports, including keynote reports and sub-venue reports. Five exhibitions were organized, including the association's 40-year development history, geosynthetics products and equipment, typical engineering applications of geosynthetics, technological innovation in the geosynthetics industry, and outstanding photography works from the Dingtai Cup and Haoke Cup. At the same time, the "Modern Cup" 6th National College Students' Reinforced Earth Retaining Wall Design Competition and other activities were held.
